Fourth Light Workshop

Yesterday I held my first ever workshop! I had two students, who are very interested in photography, come out and I went over all the basics with them then we went out and practiced a little. It was a lot of fun and made me really brush up on all the stuff you work so hard to master at first and then forget about along the way somehow ;0) We discussed ISO, Aperture, and shutter speed along with some metering tricks, priority modes and a few other details. These gals are pretty sharp and I must say they caught onto all the number hooplah a lot faster than I did! Here are some shots from Rachel who used my camera (just until her hubby finds her one... I love it when hubbies buy us wives camera gear!) so I had the privilege of peaking at her work;

I was impressed by both the girls! I don't think I had a clear picture for at least a month it seems like, maybe a lucky one every now and then ;0) They went right out in blaring sunlight and in fully manual mode, having very little experience and did some great work! I hope to have more workshops in the future seeing as how shoots are a little tricky right now with this giant preggo belly. Next up will be a more advanced class with a few more students. We'll see how that goes! If you are in my area and interested in hanging out, learning some techniques and taking some pictures shoot me an email and I'll be sure to update you on the next Fourth Light workshop.
